EDIBLE BEAUTY
ANNA MITSIOS – NATUROPATH, NUTRITIONIST, CREATOR, AND FOUNDER OF EDIBLE BEAUTY

Edible Beauty is so well-known across Australia – share a bit of your story as a business?
Edible Beauty began as a personal passion project, inspired by my journey as a naturopath and nutritionist. I’ve always believed that what we put on our skin should be as safe and nourishing as what we eat. When I couldn’t find skincare products that met my standards for purity and safety—that were free from endocrine disrupting chemicals and completely natural—I set about creating them myself.
The idea was to create highly efficacious beauty products using the power of botanicals, allowing people to feel confident that they were nourishing their skin without compromising their health or the environment.
We are especially proud that our products are suitable for all age groups, pregnancy-safe, and gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. I am so grateful that Australians have really embraced Edible Beauty and understand the importance of our vision and mission.
What’s been the success to your continual growth?
We ensure that we remain at the forefront of innovations in the beauty space, and our formulations are constantly evolving to ensure that we provide the ultimate high performing natural botanicals.
We have remained true to our “food-grade” purity ethos which means our customers have continued to place such a high value of trust in the brand. This means that we will always meticulously exclude harmful substances, focusing on natural and sustainable ingredients and eco-friendly packaging.
Our customers are also understanding now more than ever the importance of beauty as a holistic experience. This holistic approach has built trust, loyalty, and a community that values health, sustainability, and transformative beauty—driving our growth and success.

Why is manufacturing in Australia so important to you, your team and your customers?
Manufacturing in Australia is very important to both Edible Beauty’s customers and our business. Manufacturing in Australia allows us to guarantee the quality of our products as well as maintaining sustainability, and authenticity. It ensures we meet the highest safety standards, support local communities, and minimise our carbon footprint. By producing locally, we showcase Australia’s unique botanicals, while maintaining full transparency and ethical practices.
How hard has it been to maintain Australian made as a focus of the business as the business has grown?
To be honest with you, it has been fairly easy to maintain the focus on Australian made. This is such an important component of our offering that it is a non-negotiable when it comes to manufacturing and ingredients used in our formulations.
What’s your best bit of advice to SME’s who are having such up and down times at the moment?
My advice would be to remain true to your ultimate purpose in running your business and remember the contribution that you are making on a daily basis. By focusing on this, both internally and outwards, means the business becomes invincible in some sense, as it is serving the community and a has a higher purpose! Remembering that business, just like seasons, comes in cycles of summer/winter, peaks and troughs and trying to ride these cycles can be the key to surviving a harsh winter.
