Australian model and former professional rugby league footballer, Daniel Conn shares his thoughts on living in the best country in the world.
What do you love most about calling Australia home?
To me growing up in Central Western NSW, gave me a wonderful childhood experience of what the true Aussie countryside is all about. The camaraderie of the local people and communities and freedom of nature in its raw state. Calling Australia home is to me all about community, characters and true mateship.
When you think about growing up in Australia, what brings back memories?
I lived for running around our sheep sheds during the summer storms and tracking dusty RM Williams through the family house. I have such fond memories of growing up and the happiest ones are all on the land. Even those painfully long footy trips to places that city slickers have never heard before – the Carinda’s and the Coonabarabran’s.
What’s your favourite place to holiday in Australia?
Wow there’s so many! But I do love the heat so the further north the better. Give me the Sunshine Coast or Cairns any day.
If there is one place in Australia that you haven’t been, where would it be?
I have always wanted to go right up to the very top of Cape York. I just love the magic of remote northern Queensland. Likewise, I haven’t properly explored the Northern Territory and that is very high on my priority list to experience the real heart of Australia.
When it comes to the health and wellness of Aussies, what’s some of your best advice?
Health starts from the inside out. It’s about putting in the right nourishment into our bodies, keeping it natural and always being kind to yourself. If we don’t have our health, then we don’t have anything. A simple walk each day is a great start and celebrating life every day!
What inspired you to have your own online store with Aussie made products?
I just love the concept of looking after other Australian brands and the makers behind them, and sharing the amazing stories and characters that we are lucky enough to have. I’m very honoured to call Australia home and I think supporting fellow Australians is what it’s all about! Let’s all get on board!
