How did your wonderful local sun care products get off the ground?

Wotnot Naturals was born in 2006, at a time when the natural and eco-friendly market was just emerging. Our mission was to create a sunscreen for babies and those with sensitive skin, made with mostly edible ingredients. From the very beginning, we were committed to uncompromising quality, using only 100% Wot’s Good and 0% Wot’s Not. 

Two decades ago, this was no easy feat. Many contract manufacturers lacked experience in the natural and organic space and suggested ingredients that didn’t align with our values. It took three years of persistence and innovation to develop the hero baby sunscreen we proudly offer today. Last year, we were thrilled to see it become the No. 1 baby sunscreen sold in pharmacies—a testament to staying true to our vision.

What is unique about your products compared to others on the market?

We are fearless innovators, collaborating with our customers to push the boundaries of what’s possible, using only the finest ingredients nature has to offer. The result is a unique range of high-performing, clean and natural sun and skincare, that deliver so much more than their primary purpose.

Our baby and family sunscreen, made with mostly edible ingredients, not only delivers high-level SPF protection but is also deeply hydrating and nourishing. Similarly, our BB+ Cream, designed with busy women in mind, combines high-level SPF, anti-aging serum, and true mineral makeup all in one easy step.

Giving back to community partners is an important part of your DNA. Can you talk us through that?

Our community has always been at the heart of our brand. We believe in the power and joy of helping one another. Supporting charities brings a sense of purpose and fulfillment that goes beyond profit, deepening our connection to our mission, to help improve the wellbeing of people and our planet. 

When we first started, we chose to support Bear Cottage Children’s Hospice, reflecting our focus on creating natural skincare for babies. As the business has grown to provide natural solutions for the whole family, we’ve expanded our partnerships to include Women’s Community Shelters—a cause that’s personally meaningful to me and aligns with my passion for helping women thrive.

What’s the focus for the next 12 months of the business?

Exciting things are happening at Wotnot! While we’ve built our foundation in natural baby skin and sun care, we’re expanding our focus to include skin-wellness products for the entire family. With some incredible new heroes in the pipeline and the support of our amazing team, I’m excited about the changes we’ll see rolling out next year.
